Berklee Performance Center Concerts

FALL 1986

JAMNATION — Guitarist/composer/arranger Chris Horvath presents
an evening of funk and rhythm and blues selections by Al Jarreau,
Jeffrey Osborne and Ken Gold as well as originals performed by his
fourteen-piece ensemble Jamnation.

BERKLEE FILM FESTIVAL — REEL 9 — Film Scoring Department
Chairman Don Wilkins presents a variety of films scored by Berklee
students and alumni.

TAKIN’ CARE OF BUSINESS: RED KNUCKLES & REDNECKS III —
Faculty guitarist Robert Stanton presents Berklee’s premier country *
ensemble in a concert of southern rock, electric bluegrass and
country styles.

Double Concert — SHANTI/PARADISE — Contemporary jazz in a
quintet setting presented by saxophonist Fritz Reno{zi opens this
concert with special guest saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi. In the second
half, senior vocalist Darelle Holden and a septet featuring faculty
members Walter Beasley and Tommy Campbell on saxophone and
drums perform a varied program of jazz, funk, rhythm and blues and
originals by student writers.

STACEY STANLEY IN CONCERT -— Vocalist Stacey Stanley leads her
group in a concert of Top 40, funk and rhythm and blues styles with
arrangements by Etienne Stadwijk.

THE BERKLEE CONCERT WIND ENSEMBLE — Famed faculty
composer/arranger/trumpeter Herb Pomeroy directs the college’s
most prestigious ensemble through a program of big band jazz.

BERKLEE SINGERS’ SHOWCASE — Some of Berklee’s finest vocalists
will be featured in this musically varied concert of arrangements
written especially for this event under the direction of Performance
Studies Department Chairman Rob Rose and Ensemble Department
Chairman Orville Wright.

Double Concert — TURNING POINT OF PEACE/JULIE GIBBONS
IN CONCERT — Composer/arranger/guitarist David Miller opens
this double concert with a program of original modern jazz in a
variety of instrumental settings. Vocalist/guitarist/composer Julie
Gibbons then takes the stage to perform contemporary folk, jazz and
funk styles with her large ensemble featuring faculty saxophonist Bob
Zung. ;

WHY NOT — An evening of pop, rthythm and blues and jazz styles is
presented by vocalist Lauren Kinhan and musical director

Etienne Stadwijk, featuring originals by student composers/arrangers
Ken: Gold and Evie Nelson performed by a large ensemble.
