SPRING '83
ALTERNATE SOURCE - The styles of Miles Davis and
Weather Report are the main influences behind
this program of contemporary music directed by
faculty trumpeter Bill Scism. Guitarist Bill
Brinkley and keyboardist Steve Olenick, of the
Berklee Faculty will be featured.
A DOUBLE CONCERT: VALENTINE'S DAY MASSACRE/TOP
SECRET - The first half of the evening's program
will showcase Graeme Bird's pop, funk and jazz
arrangements with vocalist Scarlett Antaloczy
and an outstanding studio orchestra. Top Secret
with the C.I.A. Band will round out the evening
with the big band writing of leader Leonard
Moore and others. :
MAN MADE MUSIC - Leading his quintet through an
evening of original contemporary jazz, faculty
guitarist Jeff Putterman promises an exciting
program of music.
5 YEARS OF SALSA WITH "LA TROPICA" directed by
Edgard Nevarez and Tommy Villariny - Edgard
Nevarez leads one of the area's best latin
groups through its annual Spring Concert.
A DOUBLE CONCERT: BILL HEAGY SEXTET/WAVES OF
DAVES - Pianist Bill Heagy starts off the
evening with a program of jazz originals as well
as standards by Porter, Ellington, Shorter and
others. The second half will feature the high
energy performance of Stephen Rice and his
quintet in a program of original compositions by
members of the group.
JONES TONES FEATURING THE LOVE JONES ORCHESTRA -
A mix of original contemporary jazz, jazz fusion
and funk featuring the "Love Jones Orchestra"
and special guest trombonist Frank Lacy is
directed by saxophonist David Jones. '
PRIDE OF THE FARM - Faculty guitarist Mike Ihde
and his group, Flat Rats and Sail Cats presents
an evening of original shin kicking, foot
stomping country/rock.
