About Tonight's Performance

Founded in 2009, the Berklee American Roots Music Program explores American music of the first
half of the 20th century, with a focus on rural music. The program educates young musicians in this
lifeblood of America’s cultural heritage, and has helped to launch the careers of many of today's most
acclaimed Americana performers.

In celebration of the program's 10th anniversary, Matt Glaser, artistic director of the American Roots
Music Program, has assembled a host of alumni, faculty, and students for a thrilling concert that will
feature collaborations between the artists in styles as varied as blues, bluegrass, Celtic, country, gospel,
early jazz, folk, old-time, spirituals, and western swing.

Performers include alumni who passed through the program's first decade and have gone on to
successful careers. Appearing will be Sierra Hull "11 and Molly Tuttle B.M. '14, the Goodbye Girls,

the Lonely Heartstring Band, Mile Twelve, Twisted Pine, Molsky's Mountain Drifters, and Jenna & Mairi
(Jenna Moynihan B.M."13 and Mairi Chaimbeul B.M."16).

celebration, including Donna McElroy and the Jubilee Spirit Ensemble, Greg Liszt, Tony Trischka, Jerron
"Blind Boy" Paxton, Kevin Barry, Joe K. Walsh, Paul Rishell, Annie Raines, Laura Orshaw, and
