Berklee Performance Center Concerts
November 19 — West African Music & Dance - A night of traditional
Ghanaian music from the Ewe people and Afro -pop presented by percus-
sion department faculty member Joe Galeota. Special guest groups the
Afro-Pop Ensemble under the direction of faculty member Bob Pilkington,
and Mirimbira.
November 29 — Singers’ Showcase — This semester’s show will be
featuring the music of Seal, Boyz Il Men,U2, Al Kooper, Jonatha Brooke,
Tony Bennett, and “The Wiz". Featured singers include Alison Bordlemay,
Gina Cuchetti, Claude Kelly, Jason Joseph, Chrissi Poland, Laura Thomas,
Jana Sadler, Nicole Hurst, Kojo Littles, Rashidra Scott, Tia Marie Talbert,
Dee Lavender, and Yvonne Williams.
December 3 — Reverence Gospel Ensemble
December 10 — Concert Choir — The Concert Choir, under the direction of
Voice department faculty member Anne Peckham, will perform
Stravinsky’'s Symphony of Psalms with a student orchestra as well as
some additional choral works by Britten, Vecchi and Monteverdi.
December 11 — An Evening with the Berklee Rainbow Band - An evening
of big band music as the Rainbow Band, under the direction of Professor
Phil Wilson, prepares for its trip to Los Angeles where it will play at the
International Association of Jazz Educators conference in January. Fea-
tured with Berklee’s top talents will be vocalists Alisa Miles and Christine
Fawson along with composer Nicolas Sorin.
December 12 — Berklee Concert Wind Ensemble - Faculty member Peter
Cokkinias presents the Concert Wind ensemble in performance.
December 13 — Concert Jazz Orchestra — Faculty member Greg Hopkins
directs this big band in a program of contemporary jazz.
