Nicholl has long had an interest in Brazilian music and in 2007 Rittor Music
published his Bossa Nova Standard Songs, 102 Brazilian standards transcribed from the source
recordings. In that same year, his text on score and part preparation, Music Notation, was published
by Berklee Press. Nicholl is an active performer and clinician and has performed and taught in Italy,

His most recent record, Della By Moonlight, features music for woodwind quintet, rhythm section,
and a saxophone soloist, and was completed in collaboration with bassist and composer/arranger
Michael Farquharson. The album features saxophonist Greg Badolato and guitarist Tim Miller.
