Berklee Performance Center Concerts
Fall 1997
September 30 - The Dreams of Reason - Faculty pianist/composer Marc Rossi
presents original progressive jazz fusion and world beat jazz featuring Lance Van
Lenten, saxophones, Bruce Arnold, guitar faculty bassist Joe Santerre, Kevin
Newton, drums and percussionist Riccardo Guity.
October 1 - Good Time Basses - The first part of this concert features faculty
bassists Jim Stinnett and Mirek Kocandrle performing original and standard pop/
rock songs. The second part will showcase singer/songwriter Martha Bourne
performing her original alternative pop-rock compositions, arranged by Mirek
Kocandrle.
October 2 - Maggi Scott Trio - Faculty vocalist/pianist Maggi Scott presents
music from the American Songbook featuring compositions by Cole Porter,
George Gershwin, and Rodgers & Hart as well as contemporary selections by
Horace Silver and Kenny Barron, performed by her trio with faculty members
Dave Clark, bass and John Ramsey, drums.
October 6 The Jane Miller Group/Abigail Aronson Quartet - The Jane Miller
group will play contemporary jazz instrumentals composed and arranged by
faculty guitarist Jane Miller and featuring faculty pianist Joe Mulholland, bassist
Jeff Song and drummer Stever Langone. Then faculty guitarist Abigail Aronson
presents jazz fusion originals for her quartet with pianist Bevan Manson, faculty
member Norman Zocher, bass and Brook Sofferman, drums.
October 7 - SambaLypso - Faculty members vocalist Luciana Souza and bassist/
percussionist Ron Reid present an evening of Brazilian, Afro-Cuban and Carib-
bean music for rhythm section, multiple percussion, steeldrums, flute and vocals.
October 14 - Harmonic Harvest - The Harmony department faculty, under the
direction of Joe Mulholland and Barbara London, will present a concert of
original compositions and arrangements in diverse styles, instrumentation and
feel including jazz, Latin, ballads and instrumentals. Composers/arrangers/
performers include Darrell Katz, Mike Scott, Steve Dale, Joe Mulholland, Kris
Adams, Randy Felts, Steve Wark, Rick Kress, Michael Wartofsky, Eduardo
Tancredi, Bruce Katz, Dan Smith anad Barbara London with special guests Larry
Baione, Tony Germaine and Dave Clark.
