Tom Baskett

Director

Tom Baskett is regarded by colleagues and students for his dynamic and caring promotion of up-
and-coming artists. His 30-year professional career includes credits for numerous international
performances and productions in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the U.S. His singing and speaking voice can
be heard in national and international TV, radio, and web-based advertising, as well as popular artists'
recordings. Baskett is a founding member of the vocal ensemble Vox One, whose work is taught and
performed at colleges in the U.S. and around the world. At Berklee and in Greater Boston, he mentors,
coaches, and directs students in creating performances that move hearts and inspire social change.
Aformer pastoral minister, Baskett's teaching promotes spiritual wholeness, aspiration, professional
integrity, and personal integration. His protégés include vocalists appearing on The Voice and American
Idol, The Sing-Off, as well as productions of Hamilton, The Color Purple, Motown: The Musical, and more.

Maureen McMullan

Producer/Artistic Director/Musical Director

Maureen McMullan is a Scottish soprano, songwriter, arranger, musical director, producer, and vocal
pedagogue, trained in both classical and contemporary music. Widely recognized for her stylistic
versatility, she has appeared as lead vocalist at Symphony Hall with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops,
Holiday Pops, and Swing Pops, including the world premiere season performances of Visions of America
with compositions by Roger Kellaway and Alan and Marilyn Bergman; and for the Scottish National
Jazz Orchestra with acclaimed jazz tenor saxophonist Tommy Smith. Her other career highlights include
performances at Celtic Connections; the Montreux Jazz Festival; the Edinburgh Festival Fringe; PBS
music special Highland Heartbeat; WGBH's A Celtic Sojourn; and for Howard Shore's iconic work,

The Lord of the Rings Symphony in Six Movements. Aformer session singer for the BBC, McMullan

is an accomplished bandleader who recently directed and performed the featured musical tribute
honoring Emmy-winning documentarian Ken Burns at the Great Scot Awards in New York City, and as
part of a global music diaspora concert for the Smithsonian Institution's Scots in the American West
symposium in Washington, D.C. Prior to moving to the U.S., McMullan was a freelance performing
artist and voice faculty member at Edinburgh Napier University, and the University of Strathclyde,

and a Kodaly vocal instructor for the award-winning National Youth Choir of Scotland. Continuing her
passion for academia, McMullan previously served as the assistant chair of the Voice Department at
Berklee College of Music, and as an associate professor of voice. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree
with first-class honors in applied music from the University of Strathclyde; a professional diploma

from Berklee College of Music (summa cum laude); and an MBA from the D’Amore-McKim School

of Business at Northeastern University. McMullan is the artist in residence for the National Trust for
Scotland Foundation USA, and a recipient of the Sir Sean Connery Scottish International Education Trust
(SIET) Arts Award.
