Nichelle Mungo

Berklee Voice Department instructor Nichelle Mungo is a
2014 and 2013 Grammy Music Educator nominee, a three-
time winner of Showtime at the Apollo, and a recipient of
the Best Gospel and R&B Artist from the New England Urban
Music Awards in 2009, 2008, and 2007. Acclaimed for her
range, diversity, and prolific musicianship, Mungo represents
true artistry. An active member of the esteemed Doobie
Powell, Merge 2 One, and The
Glory Gospel Singers, Mungo has
also served as guest music director
for the world-renowned Stax
Records Music Academy and has
been featured on a comedy tour ;
with the late Cedric the Entertainer. i
She has recorded, performed, and/
or shared the stage with artists such
as Harry Connick Jr., Natalie Cole,
Patti LaBelle, Bobby McFerrin, and
James Taylor, among others.




George W. Russell

George W. Russell Jr. is a professor in Berklee’s Harmony
Department who received the college’s Distinguished Faculty
Award in 2012, a Berklee Curriculum Award in 2010, and the
Ted Pease Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2009. He is the
former chairman of the Jazz Department at the New England
Conservatory of Music. As a performer, he has shared the
stage with legendary jazz artists including George Duke, Bob
Moses, Bill Pierce, Stanley Clarke,
and Walter Beasley, to name a

few. He has released several solo,
jazz trio, and inspirational jazz
recordings and his original program,
“Clap Your Hands,"” is performed
across several Massachusetts school
systems under the auspices of
Young Audiences of Massachusetts.
