How Do | Get In? A Look Inside the Audition

and Interview (A&l) Process
150 Massachusetts Avenue, Room B92

The Admissions Department relies on Berklee faculty to
audition and interview more than 10,000 students each year.
What is this process like, and what does it feel like from the
inside? In this session, members of the Audition and Interview
team will shed light on the process and demonstrate
with mock auditions, using Berklee faculty as prospective
students. “Auditionees” will prepare short excerpts of pieces
and be asked to improvise and complete evaluations of sight-
reading and overall musicianship. The notes on the judges’
computers will be displayed on the overhead projector so
that attendees can see what might be written in an audition.

In the Moment and On the Spot
939 Boylston Street, Red Room at Cafe 939

Come jam the morning away with Berklee's own rhythm
section. This world-class trio will demonstrate the process of
communication while improvising. The first half of the session
will consist of a performance, while the second half will be
devoted to community participation. Bring your instrument
and come learn and play with the best. Participation is highly
encouraged, so don't be shy!
