Berklee Performance Center Concerts

FALL 1987

ONE FOR PEPPER/BROWNIAN MOTION — Faculty bari-

tone saxophonist Dan Harrington opens this two-part concert

with his quartet playing straight-ahead jazz in a tribute to the late
Pepper Adams. In the second half, faculty guitarist Stephen Rochinski
directs a big band playing original compositions by Jerry Cecco and
the leader.

ARMS & LUNGS—Jazz Composition Department faculty member
Jeff Friedman leads an ensemble through a program of progressive
jazz originals.

BOBBY T. & FRIENDS—A mixture of jazz standards and contem-
porary originals is presented by faculty drummer Bob Tamagni and
his quartet which includes faculty members Jim Odgren, saxophone,
and Jim Kelly, guitar.

CROSSBREEZE III—A five-piece group led by faculty guitarist
Ken Taft, with special guest faculty pianist Dave Frank, will perform
jazz fusion compositions by the leader and group members.

THE TONY LADA SEXTET —Faculty trombonist/arranger

Tony Lada presents his sextet performing three-horn arrange-
ments by Lada and Larry Monroe of originals and jazz standards by
W. Shorter, G. Coleman, J. Adderly and others.

TOO LATE NOW—A straight-ahead bebop quartet led by faculty
trumpeter Jeff Stout, with special guest guitarist Gray Sargent, will
play jazz standards by Charlie Parker, McCoy Tyner and others.

THE KENTON YEARS— Faculty vocalist Maggie Scott fronts the
eighteen-piece Greg Hopkins-Wayne Naus Big Band in a tribute to the
music of big band leader Stan Kenton.

JOHN BABOIAN & FRIENDS—Mainstream and contemporary
jazz standards and originals will be performed by faculty guitarist
John Baboian and his sextet of Berklee faculty members.
