David Friend Recital Hall Concerts

April 30 - 7:00 p.m.— Advanced Improv Ensemble -Faculty member Ed
Tomassi presents his Small Group Improvisation student ensemble
performing post-bop contemporary original tunes by Dave Liebman, Joey
Calderazzo, Gene Perla, Dizzy Gillespie others.

May 1- 2:00 p.m. -May Day Madness The Stage Performance Workshop,
under the direction of voice department faculty Lawrence Watson, pre-
sents several of Berklee's promising vocalist offering a variety of styles.
Perfomring compositions by King Curtis, Carol King, Peter Gabriel,
Mariah Cary and Anita Baker.

May 1- 4:00 p.m. Progresssive Instrumental Rock/Classic Rock En-
semble - Directed by guitar department faculty member Jon Finn.

May 1 - 7:30 p.m.Contemporary Chamber Music Ensemble - Faculty
member Robin Ginenthal presents the contemporary chamber music
ensemble performing twentieth-century works by Barber, Britten, Brouwer,
Copland, Falla, Martino, Rachmaninoff, and Schickele.

May 2 — 2:00 p.m. Music of Cedar Walton Ensemble- Music by the
famed pianist directed by ensemble faculty member Marcello Pelliteri.

May 2 — 4:00 p.m. Music of Dave Holland Ensemble- Music from the
wrenowned bassist and composer directed by ensemble department
faculty member Lello Molinari.

May 2 — 7:30 p.m. Quiet World - Original Contemporary Fusion — Faculty
member Tiger Okoshi presents his student fusion and contemporary jazz
ensembles performing Okoshi originals. Focusing on the color , the
shape, blend, brightness/darkness and harmonics of each instrument
the arrangements are designed for the soloist to tell long stories and
develop mature contents of improvisational solos.
