MODULATION

An entire course in itself could be given over to the study
of modulation.

However, with the use of the cirele of keys, thearranging
student should be able to construect many modulations if he will
bear in mind the possible varlations of the seventh chords, such
as, augmented fifths, flat minths, etec.

Another idea that can be put to use in constructing modul-
ations 1s to create a line of motion in the bass part, either dia

tonie or chromatic.
