Oct.29 BIG BAND EXPRESS — Faculty trumpeter/composer/ arranger
Wayne Naus brings an all-star big band, comprised of Berklee faculty
and alumni from the Herman, Kenton and Rich big bands, to the Per-
formance Center stage for an evening of high-energy jazz in an all-
acoustic setting.

Nov.4 FORWARD MOTION — Berklee students Tommy Smith (tenor),
Terje Gewelt (bass), and lan Froman (drums) will be joined.by alumnus
guitarist Mordy Ferber for an evening of original contemporary jazz.
Forward Motion (with Laszlo Gardonyi on piano) has just returned
from a tour of Europe and won the 1984 down beat Outstanding Per-
formance Award for small groups. They have a second album due out
this winter.

Nov.6 TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS 59'/2 (Red Knuckles & Red Necks)
— Performance Studies Department Chairman Rob Rose, with Yo
Team Productions, presents the Berklee Country Music Band in a con-
cert spanning the many styles of contemporary country music from
southern rock to bluegrass.

Nov.7 BERKLEE FILM FESTIVAL — REEL 8 — An animation extravaganza
featuring films from The Rhode Island School of Design and scored by
Berklee film scoring students will be hosted by Film Scoring Depart-
ment Chairman Don Wilkins.

Nov. 12 Double Concert — LONE WOLF/JOHANNES PRISCHL BIG BAND
— Vocalist/guitarist John Wackler presents his seven piece
“Lone Wolf Band” in a concert of original country and pop music. In
the second half, saxophonist/composer/arranger Johannes Prischl
directs his big band in a program of original contemporary jazz.

Nov.13 THE BERKLEE CONCERT WIND ENSEMBLE — Faculty composer/
tubist Gregory Fritze presents an evening of contemporary 20th Cen-
tury concert music by Carl Husa, Gustav Holst, faculty member
Matt Marvuglio and others performed by the 45-piece Concert Wind
Ensemble.

Nov. 18 CHRISTIAN JACOB AND FRIENDS — Senior pianist Christian Jacob
and an all-star sextet, just back from the “Jazz Festival At Sea” with
. Gary Burton, will perform original jazz in a variety of instrumental
' settings from solo to sextet with special guests faculty drummer
Tommy Campbell and Dean of Curriculum vibraphonist Gary Burton.

Nov. 19 THE BERKLEE CONCERT JAZZ ORCHESTRA — Famed faculty
composer/arranger Herb Pomeroy directs the College’s most presti-
gious ensemble through a program of big band jazz.
