Jim Brandmeier and Friends — Jim Brandmeier leads his group
through a program of jazz standards featuring Joe Cohn and Makoto
Ozone.
The Tony Lada Sextet — “In The Traditlon” — An evening of
“mainstream” jazz featuring faculty trombonist Tony Lada. Also fea-
tured will be Larry Monroe on alto saxophone and Jeff Stout on trumpet.
Junk Mail — A program of high energy original new wave rock is
presented by Luis Mauri and Alvaro Falcon.
Ulanowsky’s Blues, Again? — Small group jazz, in a varliety of styles,
featuring Alex Ulanowsky and special guest Ruth Ristich, along with
other prominent Boston area musicians.
The Tickets featuring James Romanek/Illusion (1/2 each)
The first half of the concert showcases original contemporary jazz
compositions by James Romanek and Niels Lan Doky. The second half
will feature composer Osamu Okubo's original Japanese pop, rock and
fusion compositions performed by his group “Orient Express”.
In My Mind — Pop fusion compositions by members of the band will be
performed by Fumiaki Tamitsuji and “The Fumiaki Group”. :
The Nakayoshi Group — An evening of original fusion compositions is
presented by saxophonist Akio Mikazaki and his group.
An Evening With “Waterfall” — A program of original jazz/fusion
music concentrating on ensemble playing and free form improvisation
is directed by faculty member Jeff Link.
The Life Symphony Orchestra — A fun evening of Ethnic music
reflecting the Black Experience is presented by percussionist Rumas
Barrett.
