David Friend Recital Hall Concerts
March 23- An Evening with Birdsongs of the
Mesozoic — Faculty member Michael Bierylo
presents original electro-acoustic chamber
rock for guitar, piano synthesizers and wood-
winds.
March 24- Neil Leonard & Friends — Faculty
member Neil Leonard presents jazz, electron-
ic and chamber music for his 8-piece ensem-
ble with special guests Benjamin Schwartz,
cello and Jessi Rosinski, flute.
March 28- Off We Go! - Vocalist/pianist
Rachel Solomon presents original pop/rock
compositions and arrangements for her quar-
tet with a string quartet as special guests.
March 29- Sonic Circuits Xll - The
International Electronic Music Festival at
Berklee College of Music is an annual show-
case that includes live performance with elec-
tronics, video art, new media art, sound art,
and works for electro-acoustic tape. This con-
cert features Berklee faculty members Neil
Leonard, Michael Bierylo, Stephen Webber,
Apostolos Paraskevas, students and special
guest Michael Norsworthy.
March 30 - Berklee Afro-Pop Ensemble —
Under the direction of Percussion
Department faculty member Mohamed
Camara the Afro-Pop ensemble performs as
part of Percussion Week.
March 31 - Enestico “T Su Charanga” -
Percussion Department faculty member
Ernesto Diaz performs as part of Percussion
Week.
April 1- The Singer Showcase —
Percussionist/marimba player Jonathan Singer
presents contemporary and classical music by
John Cage, Steve Reich, and J.S. Bach as well
as Indian Classical drumming for tabla, mri-
dangan and other percussion.

Chandra Cogburn and Lucas Vidal for small
chamber ensembles. 3
April 12- NOIR persents “The Ibrahima 9
Drum” — Guitar department faculty member
Chris Buono hand the group NOIR--Chris
Tarry, bass, Andy Sanesi, drums, Jason Scott,
tenor sax, Jesse Selengut, trumpet—bring the
tale of The Ibrahima Drum to Berklee. The
band’s performance is a recount of a com-
pelling narrative penned by Selengut that is

interwoven with dark and funky composi- *
tions affording the musicians room to delve
into deep improvisations.
7:30 pm - Bruce Saunders Quartet featuring
Rob Thomas - Faculty guitarist Bruce
Saunders presents original jazz for quartet in =
cluding faculty bassist Bruno Raberg and
drummer Take Toriama with special guest
faculty violinist Rob Thomas.
April 13- [4:00 pm] Jane Miller - Faculty
Guitarist/Composer.Jane Miller leads a quar-
tet featuring guitar, piano, bass, and drums.
The group plays contemporary jazz instru- =
mentals composed by the leader as well as
some arrangements of music by other com- =
posers in the jazz and popular music genres.
Some acoustic guitar will be featured as well *
as the more traditional jazz electric guitar.
April 13 -7:30 pm - Dave Fiuczynski & Dave
Tronzo - Two iconoclastic guitar titans named
Dave join forces in a show of slide and fret-
less guitar, free form blues and eastern 4
melodies, Moroccan tinged grooves and
straight ahead mans featuring faculty gui- 3
tarists David Fiuzynski, Dave Tronzo with
bassist Mike Rivard and drummer Bertram
Lehman.
