David Friend Recital Hall Concerts
April 9 Vocal Jazz Series - Under the direction of faculty
vocalist Maggi Scott, student vocalists will perform jazz
standards accompanied by a faculty rhythm section including
Scott on piano.
April 12 - Harmony Department Spring Concert - The Har-
mony Department’s annual concert will feature compositions
and arrangements of original music performed by members
of the department and special guests. A wide variety of
music will be presented, from vocal/piano duets to saxo-
phone quintet with rhythm section. Latin jazz, mainstream
jazz, contemporary songwriting and other styles will be fea-
tured.
April 17 - Manuel Kauffman Masters Recital - Masters candi-
date bassist, composer, arranger Manuel Kauffman presents
contemporary jazz compositions arranged for “Nonet,” a nine
piece ensemble featuring Berklee faculty members Greg
Hopkins, trumpet, Jeff Galindo, trombone and Shannon
LeClaire, saxophone.
April 18 — The Songwriters’ Circle - The Songwriters’ Circle is
an annual event presented by the Songwriting Department
which feaures four singer/songwriters selected by invitation
from the Songwriting faculty. This year’s concert will feature
the following writers: Sarah Fimm, Jesse Terry, Michael
Schmid and Liz Pappademus. The purpose of the
Songwriters’ Circle is to provide a venue which focuses more
on the song rather than the arrangement, therefore the
presentations will be the usual solo or duo formats. Support
your local songwriters!
