Berklee Performance Center Concerts
Spring ‘85
January 24 THE FRINGE — YEAR FOURTEEN — "The Fringe;’ featuring faculty bassist
Rich Appleman, faculty saxophonist George Garzone, and drummer
Bob Gullotti return to the Performance Center stage to present an
evening of original jazz from their new album “Hey! Open Up!”
January 28 MUSIC FOR —JAN JARCZYK & THE 12-PIECE ORCHESTRA —
This concert will feature all original music composed by faculty
member Jan Jarczyk for solo piano and for a 12-piece orchestra.
January 29 TORCH — AN EVENING WITH CHERYL HODGE & FRIENDS — A program
. of jazz standards will be presented by vocalist Cheryl Hodge of the
Berklee faculty. '
January 30 THE LATIN JAZZ UNION — Led by bassist Irving Cancel, The Latin Jazz
Union will perform contemporary Latin jazz.
February 4 GORDON BRISKER QUINTET — Faculty saxophonist/flutist
Gordon Brisker will present an evening of straight ahead jazz featuring
bassist Gildas Bocle, pianist Bob Dogan, trumpeter Tim Hagans and
Marcello Pelliteri on drums.
February 5 YOU AINT HEARD IT ALL—A program of rhythm & blues, fusion,
gospel and jazz will be presented by faculty guitarist John Wilkins and
his group "Drivin’ Wheel” 8
February 6 LIVING JAZZ — An evening of big band jazz arrangements and original
compositions, featuring special guest vocalist Dominique Eade,
pianist Donald Brown and drummer Lewis Nash, is directed by faculty
saxophonist Allan Chase.
February 7 TRUMPET MADNESS — Faculty trumpeters Ken Cervenka and Tim Hagans
offer a program that will include compositions by Lee Morgan,
Freddie Hubbard and Kenny Dorham, as well as original compositions.
February 11 NEW CHAMBER MUSIC SPRING CONCERT — Contemporary chamber
works featuring tubist Greg Fitze, pianist Ali Delfau and vocalist
Mili Bermejo will be presented by Berklee composer George Cordeiro.
February 12 ARE YOU LISTENING? — Faculty guitarist Anthony Peterson and his
group will present an evening of jazz and progressive improvisation.
February 13 DIFFERENT STROKES — An evening of original contemporary
instrumental music featuring material from the recently released
album "Different Strokes” is presented by faculty vibist Ed Saindon
and Spectrum.
