October 3 - Gaze Upon the Moon/An Evening With T Fields - Original Pop/Funk compositons by guiatarist/vocalist Kai Turnbull will be performed by his quartet. In the second half, faculty mem- ber Chris Noyes presents Transuniverse Fields performing original instrumental and vocal rock. October 7 - Good Time Basses - Faculty members Jim Stinnett and Mirek Kocandrle present original contemporary jazz, pop and rock performed by small and large ensembles and featuring faculty members Dave Howard, guitar, Richard Grudzinsky, keyboards, Dennis Montgomery, keyboards and Greg Badolato, saxophones. October 9 - Hamburg Revisited: John Lennon’s 56th! - Under the direction of Songwriting Department faculty member, guitarist John Stevens, The Blue Meanies—with Corin Ashley, Rick Cohen and Ken Hickey—will celebrate John Lennon’s 56th birthday with this performance of songs from all periods of the Beatles career using the Hamburg style set-up of two guitars, bass and drums. October 10 - Koven Smith/Points of Hue - In the second half Mark Lopes presents contemporary jazz originals and compositions by Dave Holland and Ornette Coleman for his quintet. October 15 - “Us”/On the Tee - Vibraphonist/composer Oli Bott presents his jazz-suite for big band entitled “Us”. Then pianist Yoohchan Kwak presents jazz standards by Rodgers & Hart, Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer and Frank Loesser for his trio.
