Berklee Performance Center Concerts Bpaiia® April 17 - Guitar Week The Quest for the Very Last Snowflake/Mike Keneally’s Beer for Dolphins - Guitar department faculty member Jon Finn and his group— faculty members Joe Santerre, bass and Dave DiCenso, drums— present an evening of progressive instrumental rock featuring songs from their debut album “Don’t Look So Serious.” Then Zappa guitarist Mike Keneally presents Beer for Dolphins with Berklee alum Brian Beller, bass. April 18 - Guitar Week- Berklee John Scofield Ensemble/Guitar Frenzy The music of guitar great John Scofield is performed by this ensemble under the direction of faculty member Rick Peckham. Then Guitar Department faculty members Bruce Bartlett, Jim Kelly, Rick Peckham, and Bruce Saunders perform contemporary instrumental music accompanied by fellow Berklee faculty member Bob Tamagni on drums and Berklee student bassist Jim Stechschulte April 19 - Guitar Week-Blues & Jazz Bargains /John Wilkins- Faculty Guitarist John Wilkins presents jazz with a Spring Theme for his quartet. Then Guitar faculty Mike Williams leads a quartet, with faculty mbmebers Danny Morris, bass and Casey Scheuerell, drums, performing blues and jazz originals by Williams and pianist David Maxwell. April 20 - Guitar Week-Guitar Night - Five of Berklee’s top rock, jazz, blues, and fusion student guitarists will be featured individually and collectively in a fast paced program of covers and originals. Five all-star student rhythm sections will assist in the Guitar Department’s biggest annual event. April 22 - Spirit Song with Vocal Summit/Chichester Psalms by Leonard Bernstein - Under the direction of faculty member Bob Stoloff, Berklee's Vocal Summit presents original music in many musical idioms including jazz, folk, classical and spontaneous improvisations by composers Neuza Teixeira, Andy Rozas, Megan Gass and Richard Meffley. Then the Berklee Concert Choir, under the direction of Voice faculty Anne Peckham, will perform Chichester Psalms by Leonard Bernstein, commissioned by the Cathedral of Chichester in Sussex England for their 1965 Music Festival. This performacne will feature organ, harp and percussion accompaniment and the choir will sing in Hebrew with a solo quartet and boy alto. April 25 - Singers’ Showcase - In honor of Berklee'’s 50th anniversary the Yo Team presents a tribute to fifty years of music from the forties up until to present day. This concert will feature some of the college’s finest student vocalists, instrumental- ists, and arrangers performing music of artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Andrews Sisters , Fats Domino, Rodgers and Hammerstein, The Beatles, The Supremes, Elton John, Donna Summer, Toni Braxton, Stevie Wonder, and K.D.
