October 11 October 12 October 13 October 17 October 19 2 w - o ) ~ October 24-26 Berklee Performance Center Concerts Mingus Among Us/Johannes Wollman & the Mooseworks Collective—Drummer Sebastiaan de Krom presents a program featuring the compositions of legendary bassist/composer/arranger Charles Mingus performed by his 7-piece ensemble. In the second half, pianist/composer/arranger Johannes Wollman presents original modern jazz for his quintet. Tribute to Heraldo Do Monte/The Paci/Bosse Collaboration— Brazilian jazz originals and compositions by Heraldo Do Monte, Toninho Horta and Hermeto Pascoal performed by a 6-piece ensemble under the direction of guitarist Reginaldo Frazatto, Jr. In the second half, guitarist Dion Paci joins with guitarist Berklee alum Ron Bosse to present contemporary jazz originals. Pianist Steve Hamilton, drummer Sebastiaan de Krom and bassist Mark Dubek round out the ensemble. Stars —Faculty pianist Makoto Takenaka and his trio present a program of jazz standards by Duke Ellington, Bill Evans, and others as well as originals all sharing the theme of “Stars.” Quintet - Faculty trumpeter Ken Cervenka leads a quintet, with faculty members Tim Ray, piano, Rick Peckham, guitar, Bruno Raberg, bass and Dave Weigert, drums, through a program of mainstream jazz originals and standards. Free Music (For All)/Funk-Sexiest - Bassist Florian Feuser is joined by faculty guitarist Rick Peckham and drummer Bertram Lehmann performing original contemporary jazz. In the second half vocalist, composer, arranger You-ji Japanese-Soul leads the Funksexymobsters in a program of Pop-Funk’'n’ Rock originals and selections by Prince and Stevie Wonder.
