Berklee Performance Center Concerts
Fall ‘85

Oct. 29  BIG BAND EXPRESS -- Faculty trumpeter/composer/arranger
Wayne Naus brinas an all-star big band, comprised of
Berklee faculty and alumni from the Herman, Kenton and
Rich big bands, to the Performance Center stage for an
evening of high-enerqy jazz in an all-acoustic setting.

Nov. 4 FORWARD MOTION -- Berklee students Tommy Smith (tenor),
Terje Gewelt (bass), and lan Froman (drums)éwill be
joined by alumnus quitarist Mordy Ferber for an evening s
of original contemporary jazz. Forward Motion (with
Laszlo Gardonyi on piano) has just returned from a tour
of Europe and won the 1984 down beat Outstanding Per-

formance Award for small groups. They have a second al-
bum due out this winter.

Nov. 6  TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS 591 (Red Knuckles & Red Necks)
-- Performance Studies Department Chairman Rob Rose, with
Yo Team productions, presents the Berklee Country Music
Band in a concert spanning the many styles of contempo-
rary country music from southern rock to bluegrass.

Novi: . BERKLEE FILM FESTIVAL -- REEL 8 -- An animatton extrava-
ganza featuring films from the Rhode Island School of
Design and scored by Berklee film scoring students will
be hosted by Film Scoring Department Chairman Don Wilkins.

Nov. 12  Double Concert -- LONE WOLF/JOHANNES FRISCHL BIG BAND -- 5%
Vocalist/quitarist John Wackler presents his seven piece
"Lone Wolf Band" in a concert of original country and
pop music. In the second half, saxophonist/composer/
arranger Johannes Prischl directs his big band in a pro-
gram of original contemporary jazz.

Nov. 13  THE BERKLEE CONCERT WIND ENSEMBLE -- Faculty composer/
tubist Gregory Fritze presents an evening of contempo-
rary 20th Century concert music by Carl Husa,

Gustav Holst, faculty member Matt Marvuqlio and others
performed by the 45-piece Concert Wind Ensemble.
