Loudon Stearns Technical Director Loudon Stearns, associate professor in the Contemporary Writing and Production Department, is an active bassist, producer, laptop performer, and media artist. In addition to supporting the Berklee community, he consults with touring artists who are integrating technology including Roli, Ableton, Cycling ‘74, UVI, and Moog into their live performances to educate music-makers worldwide in the latest developments of music technology. His recent projects Every When at Once: A Space Opera, Dante vs frost, and the upcoming PatchLand, incorporate interaction, lights, projection, music, and spatial audio to tell powerful stories in innovative ways. Andrea Capozzoli Associate Background Yocal Coordinator Andrea Capozzoli is a vocalist, trumpeter, pianist, songwriter, producer, arranger, and recipient of the Female R&B Artist of the Year award at the New York International Music Festival. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she got an early start as a professional musician, studying classical and jazz voice and trumpet. She wrote, arranged, and produced her debut aloum So Real, which transcends many genres with its eclectic appeal. She recorded an LP titled Lessons after receiving the Berklee Recording Grant, featuring songs by Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, and Horace Silver. Andrea has toured the U.S. and Europe, playing notable venues such as: The Blue Note and Iridium in NYC, and has opened for the likes of Steely Dan, Sister Sledge, and Jessica Simpson. Capozzoli has also shared the stage with Slide Hampton, Bernard Purdie, Ronnie Laws, and Erik Kloss, and had the distinct honor of performing for President Barack Obama with her arrangement of "America the Beautiful.” Nichelle Mungo Background Vocal Coordinator Nichelle Mungo is a multiyear Grammy Music Educator nominee, three-time winner of Showtime at the Apollo, multiyear recipient of Best Artist Award (Gospel and R&B) at the New England Urban Music Awards, and recipient of the Berklee Urban Service Award. In addition to her own internationally acclaimed artistry, Mungo is a recording artist, educator, songwriter, and choral director. A few of her many career highlights include work with Doobie Powell, Harry Connick Jr., Phil Perry, Kirk Whalum, the Jeremy Turgeon Quintet, Sinbad, and many others. She has been featured on comedy tours with Talent, Cedric the Entertainer, and Bro-Man. Mungo has also performed the National Anthem at the opening of Reebok World Headquarters, and at Patriots, Red Sox, Revolution, and Celtics games. Mungo has starred in hit plays such as Cinderella, Sista Girl, Another Moment in Black History, and Hallelujah ina Flat Tsunenori (Lee) Abe Arranging Coordinator/Musical Director Tsunenori (Lee) Abe, associate professor in the Contemporary Writing and Production Department, is an active composer, arranger, performer, and producer from Chiba, Japan. Abe has written music for many types of instrumentation, from solo piano, pop-rock band, and big band to world-class orchestras like the Boston Pops. While Abe, a winner of the S&R Washington Award as a composer, is extremely versatile in many genres, his name is especially known in the vocal jazz world. Many of his works, highly praised by such musical personalities as Keith Lockhart of the Boston Pops, Cheryl Bentyne of the Manhattan Transfer, Joyce Moreno, and Toninho Horta. His compositions are currently published through Yamaha Music Media and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) Jazz Press, and are being performed across the globe. In addition to his composing and playing, Abe is a respected educator and frequently gives master classes for arranging, producing, and vocal group singing. He enjoys traveling throughout the world to share his passion for writing, producing, and performing music.
