Concurrent Session llI must constantly improve,” said Sherman. “l am dedicated to providing students, faculty, and guests the healthiest, most delicious, and visually appealing cuisine my combined experience and knowledge have to offer.” —Presented by: Randall Sherman —Hosted by: Ernesto Diaz The Tutti Interactive Video Application 155 Massachusetts Avenue, Room 205 The Tutti is a multitrack video player that has been in use in the Contemporary Writing and Production Department for several years. It functions as a curricular supplement for teaching about styles and writing. The player is an interactive point-and-click application (or tap in iOS devices) that allows the user an inside look and listen to rhythm sections performing a variety of grooves and styles. Multicamera angles of each player and the ability to solo video and audio, creating a personal mix of the performance, gives faculty and students an in-depth connection to each of these grooves. The notation also appears in score and part form for each player in the main window. This session will demonstrate how to use the Tutti and some of its curricular implications. —Presented by: Daniel Moretti —Hosted by: Ray Seol Copyright or Copyleft? 921 Boylston Street, Room 411 From traditional media outlets to the hippest social media channels, the topic of copyright is hot news. Copyright is said to be “under strain” and “ripe for disruption.” The need for copyright reform even played a major role in the appointment of a new Librarian of Congress in 2016. Meanwhile, there is talk in higher education circles of copyright inhibiting the growth of knowledge and stifling innovation in learning.
