March 1 - Suzanna Sifter Quartet - Faculty pianist Suzanna Sifter performs original jazz with her group as part of Piano week activi- ties. March 2 - One Hour of Dub - Faculty pianist Matt Jenson performs an hour of dubbified tunes in the reggae and neo-soul styles stitched together with effects, dropouts, vibrations, attitude and a lap top computer as part of Piano week activities. March 3 - 4:00 pm Kiyo Nakazaki- Zambelli Scholarship Concert Classical compositions for solo piano by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Bartok and Ravel will be performed by the Emannuel Zambelli Scholarship winner, Kiyo Nakazaki. March 3 - 7:00 pm - The Suzanne Davis Trio — Faculty pianist Suzanne Davis performs original compositions from her recent record- ing A High Tolerance for the Truth featuring Garth Stevenson, bass and Luther Bray, drums. March 7 - Don't Try This At Home - The Berklee Country Music Ensemble- The Berklee Country Music Ensemble under the direction of faculty guitarist Mike Ihde, per- forms top country hits as well as instrumen- tals in classic country, western swing, and rockabilly styles. An exciting and entertain- ing evening of Hot Country and Blazing Instrumentals performed by Berklee's best Pickers and Singers. March 8- Louis Stewart in Recital 2005 — Faculty pianist Louis Stewart plays solo classi- cal music by Ravel, Debussy, Stravinsky and Schoenberg. This year’s leaders are Billy Buchanan, Stathis Lontos, Brian Quin, and Marcello Feldman. March 21- The Cryogenic Renassiance Orchestra - Faculty member Greg Hopkins recalls three of the great jazz nonets of the past century and stretches into the future of the genre with probing and challenging new works. Using Miles Davis's "Birth of the Cool" , McCoy Tyner's "Tender Moments" and Herbie Hancock's "Prisoner" music as models, Greg Hopkins Nonet pushes the envelope of this instrumentation and devel- ops a fresh viewpoint with an exciting new repertoire. March 22- Free Speech Zone The Mark Rossi Group - Faculty composer and keyboardist Marc Rossi presents original progressive jazz with Latin and Indian influences and special guest guitarist Bruce Arnold. March 23- An Evening with Birdsongs of the Mesozoic - Faculty member Michael Bierylo presents original electro-acoustic chamber rock for guitar, piano synthesizers and wood- winds. March 24- Neil Leonard & Friends - Faculty member Neil Leonard presents jazz, electron- ic and chamber music for his 8-piece ensem- ble with special guests Benjamin Schwartz, cello and Jessi Rosinski, flute. March 28- Off We Go! - Vocalist/pianist Rachel Solomon presents original pop/rock compositions and arrangements for her quar- tet with a string quartet as special guests. =l
