Davrd Frrend Recital Hall Concerts September 27 - Twos, Threes & Fours — Faculty vocalist Lisa Thorson is joined by pianist Cho Yoon Seung, bassist Dan Greenspan and drummer George Schuller for a performance of jazz originals and standards with arrangements by Glsmontl Jobim, Shriansky Thorson, Schuller and others. September 28 - Jack Jarrett & Louis Stewart-Piano Duo - A concert of classical repertoire for two pianos presented by the new plano team of Jarrett & Stewart. Works include Danzon Cubano by Aaron Copland; Sonata in D major by W.A. Mozart; Five 19" Century Waltzes by Jack Jarrett; Fantasy for 2 Pianos by Louis Stewart; Linaraja by Claude : Debussy, and the Sonata for 2 Planos by Francis Poulenc written in 1953. October 2- Ballads and Blues A solo Jazz/blues piano recital presented by faculty member Suzanne Davis will feature originals and compositions by Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, Bob Dylan and Ray Charles. October 3- The Really Eclectic String Quartet — Faculty violinist Mimi ~ Rablson presents the RESQ—violinist Eric Bindman; faculty violist Mel- issa T. Howe; and bassist Jim Guttmann—in a performance that com- bines the beauty and intimacy of a string quartet with the energy and passion of your favorite bar band. The group’s repertoire includes funk, gospel, and punk music in addition to R&B, jazz and various ethnic styles. ‘ October 4 Bruce Saunders Faculty COncert Faculty guitarist Bruce Saunders presents a program of jazz standards and original music including songs and arrangments by Thelonious Monk, Joe Henderson, Jerry Bergonzi, John Coltrane and Bill Evans. Bruce will be joined by faculty members Marcello Pellitteri, drums, Tony Gaboury, guitar and bassist Chris Van Voorst Van Beest. October 10- Ladies Sing the Blues — An mtrmate cabaret evening of blues, torch songs and sweet soul music with faculty vocalist Didi Stewart, Joe Mulholland, piano, and David Clark, bass, performrng favorites by the great ladies of blues, soul and jazz. October 11- Rlck Peckham & Tony Gaboury — Jazz standards and orlgv- nals will be performed by faculty guitarists Rick Peckham and Tony Gaboury.
