From my earliest days

as a Berklee student |
could see that Rob Rose
was an innovator and,
most importantly, in

this for the students.
Watching the Jazz-Rock
Orchestra perform with
the likes of Jeff Watts,
Marvin “Smitty” Smith, Will
Rhinehart, Donald Harrion,
Sheila Ford, Jeane Ricks,
and other outstanding
students was a huge
source of inspiration for

me. As a colleague, |
always admired the way
Rob showed concern for
people, their well-being,
dignity, and humanity. You
could fuss and debate
with Rob intensely but
when it was over you were
just two friends and
colleagues both trying to
do what was best for

the community. | have
always respected Rob

for that.
