Sybille Grey will present a gift from the Boston Links to support the Sarah
Vaughan Endowed Fund

President Berk, Trustee Vivian Beard, Trustee Dolores Johnson and
Trustee David Lee will present the first ever scholarship award made from
the Sarah Vaughan Endowed Fund. Berklee’s three African American
trustees established the Sarah Vaughan Endowed Fund in December
1999 with significant support from Trustee and Chief Executive Officer of
Newbury Comics, Inc., Mike Dreese. In acknowledgement of the pro-
found influence African Americans have had on the music and continues
to define Berklee, this new fund will provide scholarship support for
outstanding musicians who demonstrate financial-heed.
