Berklee Performance Center Concerts September 9 — Daryl Lowery Instant!Groove - The Hammond B3 is at the core of the funky soul-jazz grooves that provide a vehicle for improvisations led by faculty saxophonist Daryl Lowery. The highly original sound of Instant!Groove, with Bob Moses (drums), and faculty members Rick Peckham (guitar), Bruno Raberg (acoustic bass), and Dave Limina (B3), is reminiscent of the organ- based groups of John Scofield and draws much of its repertoire from the likes of "Big" John Patton, Ruben Wilson, Don Patterson and Leon Spencer. This concert will introduce some brand new music as well s selections from their recently released CD. September 27 - Some of My Best Friends Are... Faculty percussionist Warren Wolf presents original jazz and fusion featuring his vibraphone playing in the first half and drum- set in the second half. September 29 - The Mark Shilansky Show: A Very Special Episode - Original jazz and pop music presented by faculty member Mark Shilansky. September 30 - Thaddeus Hogarth - Guitar department faculty member Thaddeus Hogarth leads his four piece R&B-Funk ensemble in an evening of original songs selected from his recent and upcoming releases.
