Berklee Performance Center Concerts Berklee Concerts - Summer 1998 Berklee Performance Center July 22 - Boo Day Dee On - Original fusion harmonies and melodies with funk grooves composed by faculty bassist Joe Santerre will be performed by his quartet featuring faculty saxophonist Dino Govoni, keyboardist Ross Ramsay and drummer Paul Quattrochi. July 23 - Adriana Balic - Five Week Summer Performance Program faculty member, vocalist and keyboardist , Adriana Balic presents pop-rock originals for her seven piece group. July 28 - The Back Bay Brass Jazz Orchestra - Big band jazz originals in swing, Latin, and contemporary styles will be presented by faculty trombonist/ composer/arranger Ben Elkins conducting the 19 piece Back Bay Brass Jazz orchestra. Featuring arrangements and compositions by Ellington, Brookmeyer, McConnell, Holman, Florence and faculty composers Richard Lowell and Ben Elkins, the band will be joined by very special guest trombonist Jeff Hoyer of the United States Air Force. July 30 - Bobby Lee Rodgers & the Herd - Faculty guitarist Bobby Lee Rodgers leads his quartet in a funky blend of acoustic rock with a bluegrass twist with songs from their upcoming CD, Apple Pie, to be released in the fall. August 3 - The Berklee Rainbow Band - Faculty composer/arranger/trombon- ist Phil Wilson leads the Berklee Rainbow Band in an evening of jazz. David Friend Recital Hall July 29 - 7:30 p.m. - Bob Pilkington - Five Week Performance Program faculty members perform original jazz and standards led by faculty trombonist Bob Pilkington. August 3 - 1:00 p.m. - John Laporta - A concert with renowned clarinetist Professor Emeritus John LaPorta assisted by Assistant Chair of the Guitar Department Rick Peckham and Percussion Department Professor Joe Hunt and Bass Department faculty Jim Stinnett.
