at Berklee 2004 City Music Blow-Out Concert presented by: The President’s Office of Community and Governmental Affairs In collaboration with the Five Week Summer Performance Program hosted by: J. Curtis Warner, Jr. Assistant Vice-President, Community and Governmental Affairs Tuesday, August 10, 2004 7:30 p.m. Berklee City Music is designed to provide students attending Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, and Chelsea high schools the opportunity to learn basic music skills, develop their love of music, and provide guidance and support for those seeking to further their musical talents and education. This summer, Berklee provided scholarships to 42 Boston high school students, as well as five (5) scholarships to high school students from Cambridge and Chelsea to attend our Five Week Summer Performance Program. In an effort to replicate this very successful model, Berklee has initiated the Berklee City Music Network through select agency partnerships. SYSTEM-5 recipients include three (3) students from our network partners in Philadelphia and Los Angeles (1). The students take private lessons, instrumental labs, music theory courses, and ensemble classes. Berklee Performance Center 136 Massachusetts Avenue Boston, Massachusetts
