LETTER FROM THE DIRECTORS OF THE FIVE-WEEK SUMMER PERFORMANCE PROGRAM The Five-Week Summer Performance Program, now in its 28th year, is the largest and most comprehensive summer music program available anywhere. Every year, more than 1,000 participants from across the U.S. and 50 different countries share this unique summer experience. Participants represent all instruments, all contemporary styles, and all levels of musical ability. The Five-Week Program, with its range of study options, world-class instructors, and state-of-the-art facilities, is a summer program that could only be offered at Berklee. The Five-Week Summer Performance Program is dedicated to helping aspiring young musicians begin to develop their musical and life goals. The program offers young musicians a chance to learn, study, and work with Berkleeā€™s world- renowned faculty. Networking is an important aspect of the music business, and students in the program establish lifelong friendships with their colleagues and peers while working towards becoming the performers, songwriters, producers, recording engineers, teachers, and music business leaders of the future. The Five-Week experience continues to be enhanced with the addition of Berklee City Music scholarship students from Boston and around the country. City Music students bring vibrancy and diversity of thought and experience to the Five- Week Program and have a profound effect on everyone at the college and within the Berklee community. We are very proud of the work and accomplishments of the City Music program. We congratulate all the City Music staff and students for a job well done. We are excited to hear the students perform and look forward to them achieving their dreams. Warmest regards, Rob Rose, Bob Doezema, and John Pierce Directors of the Five-Week Summer Performance Program
