Gabriela S. Gomez-Estevez, conductor . o A native of Santiago, Dominican Republic, musician Gabriela Sofia Gomez-Estevez moved to Boston in 2013. She is a fourth year student at Berklee College of Music, where she majors in Flute Performance and Professional Music, and minors in Orchestral Conducting. She is the Music Director of the Harry Potter Soundtrack Orchestra, a student ensemble she founded in June 2015 with the goal of promoting and celebrating the music of the Harry Potter movies. Ms. Gomez-Estevez serves as Assistant Conductor of the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra since October 2015. She joined the Metrowest Symphony Orchestra as Assistant Conductor in May 2016. In March 2016, she was awarded the Tibor Pusztai Conducting Award by the Berklee Composition Department. Ms. Gomez-Estevez was also the music director of Bach with a Twist at South Station, a one-time event that took place on March 21st, 2015 in celebration of J.S. Bach’s 330th birthday anniversary. She has studied conducting under the tutelage of maestros Kenneth Kiesler, Isaiah Jackson, Louis Stewart, George Monseur and Francisco Noya. Ms. Gomez-Estevez is also an active performer. She has been the principal flutist of the Berklee Contemporary Symphony Orchestra since September 2015 and is a high-demand collaborator among her peers at Berklee, having played in countless studio sessions and recitals for film scorers and composers. She currently studies flute with Dr. Wendy Rolfe.
