Berklee Performance Center Concerts November 13- Singers Night- Outstanding student vocalists representing all semester levels will perform in a variety of styles including jazz, rock, R&B, country and Latin under the direction of Voice department chair Jan Shapiro and Assistant Professor Kira Small. The singers will be backed by a faculty rhythm section. November 16- The Music of Africa- Percussion department faculty Joe Galeota Jr. presents the Berklee West African Drum & Dance Ensembles performing music and dance from the Ewe, Akan and Dagbani peoples of Ghana and Togo. In the second half a faculty-student ensembel performs Afro-Pop compositions by Fela Kuti, Salif Keita and Johnny Clegg. November 27- The Reverence Gospel Ensemble- The Berklee Reverence Gospel Ensemble, and the small group, Overjoyed, under the direction of Dennis Montgomery Il, present an evening of contemporary and tradi- tional gospel music composed by Dennis Montgomery. November 30- Singers Showcase- The Fall 2000 Singer’s Showcase will feature the vocal talents of Nia Allen, Ben Ward, Gina Cuchetti, Kevin Wood, Chrissi Poland, Jason Joseph, Carrie Turner, Nick DeKoff, and Laura Clapp. They will be performing the music of Prince, Leanne Rimes, Paula Cole, Tim McGraw, Christina Aguilara, Gilbert & Sullivan, and others. There will be a special dance number featuring the choreography talent of John Campbell. December 4 — The Concert Choir- Faculty vocalist Anne Peckham directs the Berklee Concert Choir performing Messe de Minuit by Marc-Antoine Charpentier as well as several a cappella pieces to round out the pro- gram. December 5 — An Evening With The Rainbow Band - The Berklee Rain- bow Band, under the direction of Professor Phil Wilson presents music from a variety of composers and arrangers will showcase a broad range of talent from across the college.
