Berklee Performance Center Concerts March 9 - Jack Wilkins - Legendary jazz guitarist Jack Wilkins peforms as part of Guitar week activities. March 10 - Hiram Bullock - Renowned jazz guitarist Hiram Bullock peforms as part of Guitar week activities. March 13- Percussion Unlimited - Berklee’s leading percussion ensemble, under the direction of Department Chair Dean Anderson, presents its annual concert featuring works by Michael Udow, Christopher Rouse, John Cage, James Campbell and Dave Mancini. This concert will feature the world premier of Dave Mancini’s Concerto for Drumset, Timpani and Percussion Ensemble. Berklee marimbist Vessela Stoyanova will be featured in Michael Udow’s Shadow Chasers and special guests Dave Mancini, drumset and Vic Firth, timpani will perform. March 15- Music of Contemporary Writing and Production Majors - The Contem- porary Writing and Production Department presents the sixth annual concert featuring the writing of Majors in Contemporary Writing and Production. A variety of pop/rock, fusion, and Latin compositions and arrangements written and conducted by CWP Majors will be performed by many of Berklee's talented student instrumentalists and vocalists. March 27 - Plerrot Lunaire Ensemble - Faculty vocalist Robin Ginenthal presents Twentieth Century compositions performed by faculty members David Callahan and Louis Stewart as well as Lisa DeSiro, Kenji Kikuchi, Vessala Stoyanova and Jessica Tyson. Featured compositions include Ancient Voices of Children by George Crumb; and works by Rodrigo and Ravel. March 28 - Blue & Latin/The Way to Go - Pianist Jon Urrutia presents his trio and quartet performing orignal hard bop, and Latin compositions and works by Coltrane and Monk with special guests Francisco Mela, drums and faculty member Oscar Stagnaro, bass. In the second half drummer Sangpil Yoon pre- sents his quintet performing jazz originals with arrangements by special guest faculty trumpeter Jerry Cecco and Sangpil Yoon. March 30- International Folk Fest - The Yo Team and the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs presents the 13th International Folk Festival. This year’'s show will feature the music of Spain, Mexico, Malaysia/Indonesia/Singapore, Thailand’ Macedonia, Bulgaria, Argentia, Scotland, Turkey, Purerto Rico and Korea.
