Nov. 7 Nov. 8 Nov. 10 Nov. 14 Nov. 17 Nov,. 21 Berklee Performance Center Concerts FALL 1988 ROCK ARRANGING LIVE!—This annual concert, directed by Commercial Arranging faculty Brian Lewis, Mirek Kocandrle and Lennie Peterson showcases the best of the final projects from the Rock Arranging-Live course. These student arrangements will represent many styles from the pop/rock idiom in diverse instrumental and vocal settings. BERKLEE FILM FESTIVAL-REEL 10—Film Scoring Department Chairman Don Wilkins presents a collection of films scored by four recent graduates. Dramatic short subjects produced at New York Uni- versity, these films showcase a variety of musical styles and approaches to scoring a film. WOODWIND DEPARTMENT CONCERT— Woodwind Department Chairman Matt Marvuglio presents student performers and composers in a variety of instrumental settings of jazz and contemporary styles. Featured will be the Art Blakey Ensemble, a jazz flute octet, saxophone quartets and a piece of flute/woodwind controller and bass. HUMAN FEEL/ROYAL ICE—Drummer Jim Black opens the evening leading a quintet in an evening of contemporary originals and standards with special guest faculty guitarist Rick Peckham. In the second half, vocalist Isaac Clemon presents funk, rhythm and blues, fusion and gos- pel music in a variety of settings with special guest faculty vocalist/ saxophonist Walter Beasley. BERKLEE SINGERS’ SHOWCASE —Some of Berklee’s finest vocalists join together for a varied concert of arrangements written especially for this event in a variety of styles under the direction of Performance Studies faculty member Ken Zambello. BERKLEE CONCERT WIND ENSEMBLE —The 45-piece ensemble under the direction of faculty member Gregory Fritze, performs con- temporary music for winds by Ives, Holst, Husa and Maslanka. Featured will be a trumpet concerto composed by Commercial Arranging Department Chairman Bob Freedman and performed by faculty trumpeter Greg Hopkins.
