Voice Week Concerts ;
November 4 - Vocal Jazz Series - Voice department faculty member Maggi Scott

presents a select group of singers to perform jazz standares accompanied by a
trio.

November 5 - Gabrielle Goodman - Vocalist Gabrielle Goodman performs as
part of Voice Week activities. Ms. Goodman is a graduate of the Peabody
Conservatory and has performed with the Baltimore Symphony, the Syracuse
Symphony, the National Symphony, and the Baltimore Opera Companyas well as
Roberta Flack, Norman Connors, Brian Ferry, Melba Moore, and Lonnie Liston
Smith. As a songwriter, she was awarded R & B songwriter of the year by ASCAP
for the smash hit “You Can Make The Story Right,” which she penned with
Chaka Khan.

November 6 - Singers’ Night - Under the direction of faculty vocalist Vivian
Reed, vocal students Mika Arisala, Alma Vucinic, Glen Preece, Sofie Geiryd,
Arthur M. Rogiers, Jaime Jamgochian, Mezanne Hanna, Jill Zadeh, and Jerome
Kyles, perform student arrangements in a variety of styles

November 13 - Totems and Factotums - The Contemporary Writing and

- Production Department faculty, under the direction of Bob Doezema and
Department Chair Jay Kennedy showcase their compositions and arrangements
in a variety of styles including funk, Rhythm & Blues, Salsa, jazz, calypso and
others.

November 17 - Concert Wind Ensemble - Under the direction of Composition
department assistant Chair Greg Fritze, this 50 member ensemble of woodwinds,
brass and percussion will perform calssical music featuring a plece by faculty
composer Louis Stewart.

November 20 - Singers Showcase - Singers Showcase, under the direction of
the Yo Team, will feature student vocalists Julie Chen, Marc Lacuesta, Robin
McElhatten, Karina Kampe, Nicole Jones, Eric Wainaina, Yuko Hata, Gary King
and Rhea Dummett. They will be performing arrangements from the music of
Bobby McFerrin, Leann Rimes, Kenny Loggins, Mary J. Blige, Steven Sondheim,
Al Jarreau, Ingocnito, and many others.
