Berklee Faculty Asseciation Concert Series REEL 8 THE 1985 BERKLEE FILM FESTIVAL produce under the direction of DON WILKINS Chairman of the Film Scoring Department It has occured to me more than once that there are a great many similarities between film animation and musical composition. The conception and implementation of an idea is largely accomp- lished by one person and is therefore often very personal. Progress is agonizingly slow, but when the work is completed the results can reach and communicate with a great many people. Both forms of expression are linear, occuring in a fixed amount of time. They also tend to enhance each other when combined, resulting in a unique relationship that is hard to imagine ever having been seperated. Tonight our program features film animation and the collaboration between students of Lorie Loeb from the Rhode Island School of Design and our own film scoring majors at Berklee. Also included are two fine 'live action' films from Emerson College that we are very proud to present. Myl thanks to Department Heads Yvonne Anderson (R.I.S.D.)and Bruce Cronin (Fmerson) for supplying prints for tonight's screening. We hope you enjoy the show.
