In their sec- ond Berklee Performance Center appearance, this popular group will again feature their exciting blend of jazz and rock. The program will include many new compositions. Birds and Stars — Directed by Frank and Leo Quintero. Amixture of Jazz rock and pop, this concert is a live performance of their latest album released by CBS in Venezuela. : Edgard Nevarez and Tommy Villariny direct one of the area'’s best latin bands, “Orchestra Tropica.’ as it returns to the Berklee Perform- ance Center for a special concert of Afro-Antillian music from the group’s latest album. Return of the Son of Pop Chops featuring Private Sector — Craig Spector and his band Private Sector are back with another evening of exciting and very original pop and jazz rock music. Guaranteed fun, not to be missed. Ictus: Journeys — Directed by David Mash. Ictus, a progressive jazz fusion sextet, returns to the Berklee Performance Center. The group will be performing new compositions by band members, all of whom are Berklee graduates or faculty members. Amikam Kimelman and Friends/New Leaf — The first half of the concert features a quartet performing music in a range of styles from post Be-Bop to latin to contemporary. The second half features Gina Lorenzo and her group in an evening of original music consist- ing of different styles In the rock idiom. Rick Holland in Concert — Rick Holland directs a concert of main- stream jazz that features many jazz standards as well as some origi- nals. Also featured will be vocalist Dominique Eade. A Plece of the Rock — Directed by Rock Ciccarone. The first half of this concert will feature a straight ahead jazz quintet, performing standards and original compositions. The second half of this con- cert will feature original compositions by a horn and rhythm funk band. Mixed Traces featuring Mili Bermejo and Bert Seager. An evening of Latin-flavored jazz presented by student vocalist Mili Bermejo and pianist Bert Seager’s dynamic quintet “Mixed Traces.” Needle at the Bottom of the Sea — Directed by Jeff Putterman. This concert will feature original compositions, performed in a variety of instrumental contexts . . . solo guitar, guitar-bass and guitar, piano duos, quartet/quintet with a few vocals as well. “Moebius” — Directed by Chris Noyes. Moeblus is a group of Berklee faculty members and students performing original contemporary music for synthesizers and other instruments.
