Berklee Performance Center Concerts May 4- The Man’s The Balm - An evening of contemporary and traditional gospel music performed by Berklee's Reverence Gospel Ensemble directed faculty member Dennis Montgomery I11. Berklee’s small gospel ensemble, Overjoyed, will also perform. May 5 - Lord Nelson Mass (D Minor) - The Berklee Concert Choir, under the direction of faculty vocalist Anne Peckham, will perform the Haydn D minor Mass with orchestra. Student singers will be featured in the many solo quartet sections of this major work. Berklee students will also be featured in the full orchestra includding strings, trumpets, timpani and woodwinds. ; David Friend Recital Hall May 5 - 7:30 p.m.-Frank Withey Master’s Recital - Jazz Performance Master’s Degree candidate guitarist Frank Withey presents his quintet peerforming a wide variety of electric and acoustic jazz compositions by Michael Brecker, Pat Martino, Chick Corea, Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane and others as well as some originals. The quintet features Christian Bausch, bass, faculty keyboardist Steve Heck, drummer Chris Poudrier and John Arruda, saxophone. May 6 - 7:30 p.m.-Musical Theater - Starting Here, Starting Now - Voice department faculty members Sharon Brown and Anne Peckham present the Musical Theater Workshop Class in a musical revue, Starting Here, Starting Now , lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr. and music by David Shire. Musical direction is by Wayne Ward and Steve Sussman. The show is double-cast and will be pre- sented in two evenings. It includes songs such as Autumn, Crossword Puzzle , and I Don’t Remember Christmas. The Performance Center at Berklee College of Music is a Ticketmaster outlet.
