Yohhany Diaz — Trumpet & Hector Vargas - Piano

Diaz and Vargas are offering a talk and recital where they are performing works of the colombian traditional
music like the bambuco and the pasillo, including some works by composers of their hometown Quindio
Department and the country. They are talking about the adaptation of this music to the Trumpet and piano for-
mat.

Yohanny Diaz

He was born in Calarca, Colombia. Began his music learning in the local band of his birthplace, and after that he
worked in several bands of the department. He has performed with orquestras of salsa, bolero and cuban music
on tours in Europe and USA.

He is gratuated in music degree of the Technologic University of Pereira, Colombia.

Nowadays he is dedicated to teach in the local school of music in Calarca and the management of his company
Feeling Producciones.

Héctor Vargas

He was born in Calarca, Colombia. He studied in the Fine Arts Institute of University of Quindio in Armenia and
is graduated in music degree of the Technologic University of Pereira, Colombia. He has participated in interna-
tional music festivals like La via dei Concerti in Italy, Santa Catarina Music Festival FEMUSC in Brasil and Suzuki
Festival of Peru in Lima.

He is a piano teacher in the Fine Arts Institute of the University of Quindio and the Local School of Music of
Calarca.
