Berklee Performance Center Concerts April 4 - Two Ton Shoe - Faculty drummer Dave DeCenso presents Two Ton Shoe as part of Percussion week. April 5 - Jazz Night - Jeff Watts - Jazz drummer Berklee alum Jeff Watts performs as part of Percussion week. April 6 - Latin Night - Jimmy Branley, Eguie Castrillo, Victor Mendoza - Phil Wilson and the Berklee Rainbow Band are joined by guest artist Jimmy Branley and Eguie Castrillo with faculty member Victor Mendoza for Percussion Week’s Latin Night. April 8 - PAS Night-Gary Chaffee & Steve Houghton - Greg Hopkins and the Concert Jazz Orchestra perform with renowned drummers Gary Chaffee and Steve Houghton for PAS Night to close out Percussion Week 2000. April 11- Writing Division Awards - The Professional Writing Division takes this opportunity to showcase some of the best writing talent in the division. The writers are chosen from among the recipients of the Professional Writing Division Honors Awards which were given in early March. Each of the division’s departments chooses one writer to repre- sent the department and one writer represents the division as a whole. The concert is a wonderful collection of diverse styles and personalities. This year’s writers include April 18 - Rock Arranging Live - The 13th annual Rock Arranging Live concert highlights the best music written by some of the most talented student songwriters and arrangers. Under the direction of faculty mem- bers Mirek Kocandrle and Richard Grudzinski, this concert will present a variety of original compositions as well as new arrangements of standard rock/pop repertoire featuring some of the college’s finest vocalists and instrumentalists with special guest faculty member guitarist Jon Finn. April 19 - Requiem by John Rutter - The Concert Choir - The Berklee Concert Choir performs, under the direction of faculty member Anne Peckham will perform Requiem by John Rutter featuring faculty vocalist Robin Ginenthal as a soloist with harp, cello, flute, oboe, timpani and organ ensemble. In addition, Anne Peckham & the Berklee Women will perform Libby Larsen’s Canticle of the Sun with women from the Boston Conservatory Choir directed by faculty member Sharon Brown.
