The second half of this program features The Silverado Band, lead by vocalist Debbie Salvucci, performing country, swing and rhythm and blues featuring compositions and arrangements by Salvucci and drummer Rich Adams. THE BIG BAND SINGS AGAIN/A-NO-NE BIG BAND— Arranger/trombonist Yonell Justilien leads a big band through a program of jazz standards and originals arranged in a variety of styles; swing, Latin and Afro with special guests faculty member Phil Wilson, trombone and vocalists Lalah Hathaway and Sylvia Kelly. In the second half, Hiroaki Honshuku presents the A-No-Ne Big Band performing » contemporary jazz originals. 4 STUDENT PIANISTS NIGHT—Piano Department Chairman Paul Schmeling presents outstanding student pianists performing : a mixture of solo classical music and small group jazz. ‘ PARENTAL GUIDANCE SUGGESTED —Faculty guitarist Cliff Maddix presents three student bands performing original com- positions and arrangements in the heavy metal and hard rock idiom. BIEMUSED —Music Synthesis Department faculty member Kurt Biederwolf showcases the finest keyboard players in the department in a program of contemporary originals performed by the unusual instrumentation of four or more keyboard players, bass and drums. e
