Berklee Performance Center Concerts Fall 1997 October 23 - Bjgrn Myrholt Quartet/This Time - Drummer Bjorn Myrholt leads his quartet in an evening of acoustic jazz with elements from world music and featuring faculty bassist Josh Davis. Then bassist David Lockeretz presents folk, pop, jazz and film music performed by his quintet. October 29 - Fall Together - Faculty composers Ken Pullig, Ted Pease, Greg Hopkins, Phil Wilson, Bob Pilkington, and Bruce Thomas will be featured in this year’s Jazz Compostion Dept traditional fall concert, “Fall Together”. A wide variety of styles and approaches to the art of jazz composition are included. The music will be performed by a jazz orchestra of faculty players from across the college. Featured soloists will include Matt Marvuglio, Greg Hopkins, Phil Wilson, Joe Hunt, and many others. November 3 - WindsDay Concert - Steve Turre with the Berklee Rainbow Band/Walt Weiskopf Voice Week Concerts November 4 - Vocal Jazz Series - Voice department faculty member Maggi Scott presents a select group of singers to perform jazz standares accompanied by a trio. November 5 - Gabrielle Goodman November 6 - Singers’ Night November 13 - Totems and Factotums - The Contemporary Writing and Production Department faculty, under the direction of Bob Doezema and Department Chair Jay Kennedy showcase their compositions and arrangements in a variety of styles including funk, Rhythm & Blues, Salsa, jazz, calypso and others. November 17 - Concert Wind Ensemble - Under the direction of Composition department assistant Chair Greg Fritze, this 50 member ensemble of woodwinds, brass and percussion will perform calssical music featuring a piece by faculty composer Louis Stewart.
