April 18 April 19 April 23 April 26 ) Berklee Performance Center Concerts SPRING 1990 GUITAR NIGHT XIV—Guitar Department assistant chairmen Larry Baione and Mike Ihde present the fourteenth annual guitar concert featuring the best student performers in six guitar ensem- bles. Musical styles included will range from rock, funk and country to classical and jazz with arrangements by faculty and students. A feature of this year’s concert will be the premiere of the Berklee Faculty MIDI Guitar Ensemble. THE BIG EAR OLYMPICS —Ear Training Department faculty mem- ber Don Mixon and Assistant Chairman Greg Badolato present a com- petition of general harmony and ear training between sections of Ear Training courses. In a game show format with a master of ceremonies and scoreboards, this competition will be assisted by the Brian Lewis Big Band. PERCUSSION UNLIMITED —Percussion Department Chairman Dean Anderson leads Berklee’s premiere percussion ensemble in a varied program of contemporary percussion literature. Featured compositions include works by David McBride and Christopher Rouse. Percussion Department faculty member Victor Mendoza will premiere a composi- tion for percussion and Dean Anderson will premiere a solo work for percussion MIDI controller, marimba and computer tape. SINGERS’ SHOWCASE —Some of Berklee’s finest vocalists join together for a varied concert of arrangements written especially for this event in a variety of styles under the direction of Performance Studies Department faculty member Ken Zambello in conjunction with Yo Team Productions.
