August 3 - The Berklee Summer Jazz
Workshop Ensemble directed by Terri Lyne
Carrington and Rick DiMuzio - This year the
Five-Week Summer Performance Program is
inaugurating the Berklee Summer Jazz
Workshop, a special program for the best
and brightest high school jazz players from
around the world who have recently audi-
tioned for Berklee. The program's Artistic
Director, acclaimed drummer Terri Lyne
Carrington, will lead the students in an
ensemble, which is planning several concert
performances.

August 4 - Quintet East plays the Music of
Along Came Betty - Five Week Faculty mem-
ber pianist Bain Smith presents the music of
“Along Came Betty,” a Monterey California
based jazz quintet. The group tips its hat to
Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers but con-
tinues exploring the byways of post-modern
Hard Bop.

August 8 - [4:00 pm] Fernando Brandao —
Brazilian Jazz Ensemble

August 8 - [7:30 pm] Mike Ihde — Country
Music Ensemble - Hot Country music for a
hot summer night, featuring some of
Berklee's best pickers and singers. Music by
Keith Urban, Martina McBride and others will
be performed by The Country Music
Ensemble. Instrumentation includes Pedal
Steel Guitar, Fiddle, Electric Guitar, Piano,
Bass, Drums and 4 fantastic vocalists.
