- Berklee Faculty Asseciation Concert Series REEL 7 THE 1984 BERKLEE FILM FESTIVAL produced under the direction of DON WILKINS Chairman of the Film Scoring Department "WIIAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT KUDZU?" was the opening line from the 1976 film of the same name. Produced at Boston University by Marjie Short, the Academy Award Nominated film was an auspicious first effort for Berklee's Film Scoring Department. And just like the proliferation of that wild and crazy vine, the influence and effect of music scored at Berklee continues to compliment an increasing number of student film productions in an ever ex- panding geographic area. Along with Boston University, Emerson College, Harvard and New York University we welcome the creative collaboration of student film makers from Rhode Island School of Design, a school widely acclaimed for its animation department. Combining efforts with composers and music editors from the Film Scoring Department are the many talented students wHo per- form on these soundtracks and those who carefully blend the varied sonorities and capture them on tape in our recording studios. An original film should have an original score and the College is happy to provide a professional environment for creative exchange. The 1984 Berklee Film Festival is dedicated to the memory of Robert Share (1930-1984), a man who enjoyed film as much as he loved music. TONIGHT'S PROGRAM: GEMINI A film by Amy Birbrower - R.I.
