David Friend Recital Hall Concerts

November 27 — Pianists in Recital — The students of Piano Department
faculty member Neil Olmstead perform classical and jazz compositions
for piano. Music of Brahms, Scriabin, Prokovief, Keith Jarrett and Kenny
Barron will be presented.

November 28 — Bring In Da Noise — Voice department faculty member
Lawrence Watson presents his student ensembles in a program that will
cover the wide array of African —~American musical forms with particular
emphasis on songs that act as a healing agent.

December 3 — 2:00p.m. - Group ECM Ensemble — Facutly member Bruno
Raberg leads an ensemble featuring compositions by Kenny Wheeler,
Dave Holalnd, Keith Jarrett and others.

December 3 — 7:30p.m. - Contemporary Chamber Music Ensemble — -
Faculty member Robin Ginenthal presents the contemporary chamber
music ensemble performing twentieth-century works.

December 4 — 4:00p.m. — Fusion Ensemble — Faculty member Tiger
Okoshi presents his student fusion and contemporary jazz ensembles
performing Okoshi originals.

December 4 — 7:30 — Tower of Power Ensemble — Faculty member Wayne
Naus presents a student ensemble performing the music of Tower of
Power.

December 5 — 7:30p.m. — Latin jazz Ensemble — Faculty member Mia
Olsen presents The Latin Jazz student ensemble in performance.

December 6 — 2:00p.m. — Varadero Blue — Faculty bassist Oscar
Stagnaro presents this Latin Ensemble playing music from Ray Barreto,
Nueva Manteca, David Valentin, Oscar Hernandez and others.

December 6 — 4:00p.m. — Muy Caliente — Faculty bassist Oscar Stagnaro

presents this Latin Ensemble playing music Noro Morales, Tito Puente,
Chucho Valdez and others.
