CAROLINA ARAOZ Saxophonist, singer, and composer Carolina Araoz blends in her music elements of jazz and pop with indigenous rhythms and styles from her native Peru. She sees promoting Peruvian culture and musical traditions around the world as an essential part of her role as an artist and as an ambassador of the Culture of Perú with Exchange projects with different cultures of the world. “Calma” the first track of a new jazz project crafted with an Afro-Peruvian feel, was released in February 2019 being in the main Playlist on Jazz FM for 3 months. This track gives name to the new to come album that will be released on 2020 as a follow up to Bloom, her debut album released in 2014. Carolina also collaborated in the new recording of Peruvian singer Susana Baca, produced by Michael League (Snarky Puppy), has a duo project with Javier Lazo (Considered the composer of the new Peruvian Songbook). Carolina has been touring cities in Europe with her new project. She has played in Pizza Express, London, Exib, Portugal and soon to come in the main Jazz Festival in Valencia. Carolina studied Jazz at the University of North Texas, has a Masters degree of Berklee College of Music, has lived in New York City, Lima, and is currently living in Europe.
