Berklee Performance Center Concerts March 11 — Ergonomy Trio /Among Friends — Guitarist Eren Gumrukcouglu presents European jazz fusion originals for his trio with Yan Perchuk, bass and Jordan Perslon, drums. Then, vocalist Christy Bluhm presents jazz originals for vocal quartet as well as rhythm section and horns with special guests Voice department assistant chair Bob Stoloff, faculty members trumpeter Tiger Okoshi and pianist Mark Shilansky and Synco- pation. March 22 — Neil Leonard Ensemble featuring Jamaaladeen Tacuma/ Birdsongs of the Mesozoic and Guests - Faculty composer/saxophon- ist/synthesist Neil Leonard performs original compositions that meld driv- ing rfunk, harmolodic improvisation and electronics. Special guest bassist Jamaaladeen Tacuma joins keyboardist David Bryant and drummer Chris Bowman. Then faculty member Michael Bierylo presents new electro — acoustic chamber music new American Art Rock for piano, guitar, synthe- sizers, woodwinds and electronics. March 23 — Singers Night - Outstanding student vocalists and instrumen- talists representing all semester levels, as well as faculty, will perform in a variety of styles including jazz, rock, R&B under the direction of Voice de- partment Singers’ Night Team. March 25 — International Folk Festival - The 18th Annual International Folk Music Festival will feature students performing the music of Italy, Scot- land, Indonesia, Columbia, Ireland, Venezuela, U.S.A., South Africa, The Middle East, and the Caribbean. The show will be followed by a big party in the cafeteria. This concert is sponsored by the Yo Team and the Office of Student Affairs, and is part of Song’s Nothing Conservatory About It Con- cert Series. March 29 — Pop/Rock Live - The 16th annual Rock Arranging Live concert highlights the best music written by some of the most talented student songwriters and arrangers. Under the direction of faculty member Mirek Kocandrle this concert will present a variety of original compositions as well as new arrangements of standard rock/pop repertoire featuring some of the college’s finest vocalists and instrumentalists. March 31 — Ralph Peterson Sextet - Faculty drummer Ralph Peterson fiesen 15 sextet performing jazz as part of Percussion Week activities.
