David Friend Recital Hall Concerts April 23, 7:30pm- The Music of James Brown - Student ensembles perform mu- sic by James Brown under the direction of faculty member Kenwood Dennard. April 26, 1:00pm- Advanced Small Band Ensemble - Post Bop and contempo- rary jazz compositions by John Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, Freddie Hubbard, Mike Brecker and Joe Henderson will be performed by this eight piece ensemble di- rected by Ed Tomassi. April 26, 2:30pm- World Music Ensemble — Original compositions using different world music influences in a contemporary setting will be performed by an 8-piece ensemble directed by James Kachulis. April 26, 4:00pm- Music of the Beatles directed by Lauren Passarelli April 26, 7:30pm- Music From Holland - Faculty member Lello Molinari presents this Berklee ensemble performing the music of famed bassist Dave Holland (H'00). April 27, 1:00pm- Advanced Small Band Ensemble - Straight ahead jazz by Sonny Rollins, Wayne Shorter, Benny Golson and others will be performed by a sextet under the direction of Andy McGhee. April 27, 2:30pm- Music of Miles Davis Electric Bands - Under the direction of Kenneth Cervenka, this student ensemble performs the music of Miles Davis from 1969-1991 featuring music from in A Silent Way, Amandla and TuTu. April 27, 4:00pm- Classic Brass Il — A performance of brass music spanning the Baroque, Romantic and Contemporary periods featuring the music of Victor Ewald, J.S. Bach and W. Lutoslawski will be offered by brass quintets under the direction of Charles Lewis. April 27, 7:30pm- Berklee Marimba Labs - This semester’s Berklee Marimba Concert, directed by Nancy Zeltsman, will feature performances by two Marimba Performance Labs, the Marimba Transcriptions and Repertoire Lab, the Marimba in Mixed Chamber Music Lab, and Berklee solo marimbists. April 28, 1:00pm- Reggae/Dub Ensemble - Faculty member Winston Maccow pre- sents his student ensemble performing reggae and dub music. April 28, 2:30pm- Music of the Meters - Faculty led student ensemble plays the music of the popular New Orleans funk band of the 60's and 70’s under the direc- tion of Bob Tamagni.
